About how we work…

We work a lot from images or sketches provided to us by our clients, and they do not have to be fancy or necessarily complete. They can be photos, or drawings from other sources such as greeting cards or illustrations you wish to use as inspiration, and we can pull together a puppet based on the eyes from one image, and the mouth and chin from another, etc. We can also work from a detailed word description, or any combination of all of these. It helps very much to know what the character’s personality will be. The puppets do come costumed (though they don’t have to be).

Sizes vary a bit. Most often, people puppets are in the 33-35 inches range, though we often make them slightly smaller for a child or petite person, and can make them up to life-size, plus. Anything larger than 42 inches requires extra planning and costs more, and anything smaller than 24 inches also becomes difficult and requires extra planning.

About cost and timing…

Our standard price is $765 USD and for US and international shipping, the price will be the actual cost of shipping plus $5 handling. We ask for a $100 deposit as you order, then the balance is due when we ship. Credit or debit cards are usually the easiest way to pay (we can email an invoice with a payment link), or you can send a check or money order if you’re in the US.

We do have a waiting list—it typically ranges anywhere from 3 to 12 months, though we most often are working in a 4 to 6 or 6 to 8 months window. As of early 2024, our turnaround time is about 8 to 10 months.

About ordering…

To place an order, just contact us directly by email or by phone and we will begin working through the details of your project. (We’re partial to email, as it helps us track all of the details we discuss easily. We do understand though that some people are talkers—not typers, so call if that’s your strong preference.)

As noted above, we ask for a $100 deposit as you order, then the balance is due when we ship. Credit or debit cards are usually the easiest way to pay (we can email an invoice with a payment link), or you can send a check or money order if you’re in the US.

About the gallery images…

Images in our galleries are figures we have made. They are not items we have in the studio, nor are they all of the figures we have made over the years.

We provide reference numbers on the images as an aid so we can discuss different looks and costuming options with our clients.

We may be able to provide images of additional work on request.

We encourage everyone to consider which hair, eyes, nose, mouth shape, etc. might be most appropriate for your character. We enjoy making figures that are as unique as our clients.
